Canada

Canada day parade - people holding large flags

I relocated to Canada almost three years ago. The following is how I view Canada as my new home.

If you want me to tell you how I feel about living in Canada, I would let you know that it is definitely not easy, but all the hard work pays off. Immigrants living in Canada are called newcomers for the first five years because statistics say it usually takes three to five years for immigrants to adapt to a new environment. It is understandable that it won’t be easy for people to master a new language, get used to a different culture, start a new career, and set up a new home in an environment that varies from their home country. But why do I believe all the efforts pay off? Because I love Canada, and this is the home I dreamed of.

There are many reasons that I like living in Canada. I like the pure clean environment, the laid back life style, the beautiful natural scenery, the free and diverse atmosphere, and most of all, I love the Canadians, who are very nice and polite.

Canada has lots of holidays. The ones that are new to me are Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Remembrance Day, and Boxing Day. As a diverse society, there are also many other holidays such as St. Patrick's Day, Chinese New Year, Family Day, National Aboriginal Day. On many holidays, there are fireworks, music, and parades.

There are so many attractions to see in Canada, and my favourites are of course Niagara Falls, Toronto’s CN Tower, Banff National Park, and Old Quebec.

In my opinion, the Canadian personality is famous for being very polite. Canadians always say “sorry”, even if it is somebody else’s fault. That is definitely the loveliest thing about Canada and is so charming.

I hope you will love Canada as much as I do.
