Pets

Our pets are fish and turtles and we have two turtles and six fish. The turtles are black and grey, and the colour of the fish is orange and white. They are all very small. We bought them at the pet store in the mall and next month they will be one year old. In my language, Hmong, a turtle is called ‘vaukie’ and a fish is called ‘che’.

The turtles like to eat vegetables and other food. Sometimes our turtles chase the fish and they swim to bite the fish’s tails. It is very cute. Then all the fish swim away together in a school which looks pretty and funny. Mostly, the fish are not scared of the turtles and they play together in the tank.

They are a part of our family. We have to love and care for them because they are living creatures. We have to feed them and clean their tank to give them clean water to live. If you want to buy some pets, you can go to the pet store; there are a lot of pets for you to choose from.
