Welcome to Canada sign

I will never forget the day that I arrived in Canada. I was happy and scared at the same time. First of all, no matter what you want to do, don't let anyone put anything in your head unless you try it first. People said a lot of things to me when I decided to come to Canada. I was in the USA for a while. I had some people who encouraged me stay and some not so much.

There is a myth in most of the undeveloped countries, especially mine, Haiti. People think the USA is the number one country in the world that you can live in. As I was there that is not true. For me, I didn't like living in a frustrating or scary environment, especially if you didn't have stable immigrant status. So, my husband and I came to Canada seven years ago on May 3rd. That morning I was anxious about what was going to happen. In Fort Erie, on the border of Canada, my husband and I were interviewed separately by the officer of Canada, which went perfectly fine. There was nothing to be afraid of and the officer said, '' Welcome to Canada'' and worked me through the process. I was happy, relieved and excited to have a whole new life beginning in Canada, which was the smartest decision I made for my family.

Since then I have enjoyed living in Canada. and learning about Canadian history, culture, beliefs, good food, sports etc. I am busy planning step by step the future of my family. Now I'm a part of Canada, which I am proud of. I try to seize every opportunity that I can, and I can't imagine living anywhere else. May God continue to bless Canada in every possible way.
