Conceptual image of a family watching 3D television and stretching out their hands as though to touc

The idea of image manipulation is to create a photograph that looks better. There are different techniques and different software applications that are used in photo manipulation these days. These techniques stretch out from basic fixes like removing the red eye, to the advanced depth of erasing pimples, correcting colors or lighting. Even though how small a thing is removed from that photo or an effect added to that image, once the photo is retouched, the image is altered.

Photo manipulation is usually applied on many images that are established for advertisement purposes, such as:  newspaper, magazine, billboards and posters. For such cases, it has become a trend to manipulate the image dramatically in an entertaining way. Those manipulated photos can give the advertisement a dramatic, artistic and catchy visual effect that can create higher sales to the product. Let’s take a look at one example:

In the above advertisement image, the message that is trying to be conveyed, “This 3D TV makes you feel as though you are in the place where the event is taking place, and you feel like you are part of the situation,” is simple to understand. Without getting into ethical considerations, it is a great work of art in photo editing. Nonetheless, in reality a fish doesn’t fly or float on the air. If their mind could have been deceived for the event, it shouldn’t be only for the fish; they should have felt the whole aquatic scene. Wait, are they going to touch the fish? There are many things that can be said about this image if we go in detail. As a conclusion, the scene would be better if the water is flooding into the room and conveying the fish with it. Likewise, I suggest these three couch potatoes should wear swimming suits, googles, and fins while they are on their couch.
