Some insurance companies are offering a discount and other benefits in exchange for keeping track of people's fitness information as well as for data from their fitness devices. The insurance companies are using data from a Fit bit, Apple watch and other gadgets to track the fitness of customers and trying to get them a better deal on a cost of insurance.

Many people will give their fitness information to their life insurance company because they will have a reward. Also, some insurance companies offered to their customers discounts for healthy activities. In addition to benefits from insurance companies, many customers would sign up for fitness tracking and companies will keep records of it, as well as of their motivation and healthy lifestyle.

On the other hand, some people have concerns about this fitness tracking program. Moreover, some people worry that insurance companies will use technology to make insurance more expensive for some customers. The insurance companies are developing technologies to track people's bad habits. They can detect or discover smoking gestures and make use of smart speakers in people's homes. People should be careful about letting companies watch them all the time. They will keep track of our behavior. They will watch closely and continuously and gather information about us.
We should not become a surveillance society.

There are many dilemmas and questions about the fitness tracking program. How physically healthy or strong men and women should look like? Not everybody is built the same. Everybody is built differently, so there are differences in the appearance and body shape of people. Also, some people are concerned that letting the insurance companies track us will lead to negative situations as fitness and health information might be used to deny coverage.

The Vitality program used by insurance companies is voluntary for clients and has potential even though customers are not required to submit their fitness data. The insurance companies stated that they have just begun to track the information in order to keep customers fit and healthy, as well as give them discounts and other benefits.

In short, I cannot predict the future, but for sure, some insurance companies are going to use technologies to gain more information about us, even intrude our privacy.
