Winter 2015

Canada

Aurora borealis in Brooks Range

I would like to talk about the city that I live in. Yellowknife is in Northwest Territories and the weather here is the coldest in the north of Canada. Yellowknife is the capital of Northwest Territories. It lies on the shore of Great Slave Lake with beautiful northern lights in fall and winter.

I have lived in Yellowknife since 2017.When I saw the northern lights for the very first time, it was very interesting for me. Northern lights are also known as Polar Aurora. I had seen it on TV, but I had never seen it up close. It is with green and blue colors and with very beautiful dance movements. It is truly amazing to see!

I like my city because it is small town. It is easy for me to go to everywhere whether it going to my college or shopping or going to the doctor's office. But I don't like that winter is so long, cold and dark. I really want it to be summer soon!
