Canada

Overlooking Niagara Falls at night

I love moments when my dreams come true, and in fact, the biggest ones are my travel dreams. One of them was to admire the most famous wonders of the world.

That's how it happened, indeed, when I first saw Niagara Falls. My surprise, at the same time, was quite complex when I saw that Niagara Falls are three falls very close to each other. On the American side there are cascades: American Falls and a waterfall with a beautiful name of American Bridal Veil, which is over 60 metres high and 300 metres wide. They are separated by a small island called Luna Island.

What's more, the most popular waterfall in the world lies entirely in the Canadian territory and is not called Niagara Falls, but, its proper name is Horseshoe Falls, which means the falls have the shape of a horseshoe.

The incredible strength, which is a powerful 51 metres high and 790 metres wide waterfall is breathtaking, and as a result, it is a truly impressive view! It is amazing to know that the falling water seems to be green on its way down because it contains dissolved rocks and salt.

I recommend everyone to find the Canadian side, from which we can admire Niagara in all its splendor. From the American side, unfortunately, you cannot see the largest of the cascades. The strength of the falling water causes a huge cloud of water vapor to rise over the waterfall; therefore, you can only see a huge rainbow. I was very lucky. The day I saw Niagara Falls for the first time, it was a beautiful sunny day and over the waterfalls I saw a huge, beautiful, double rainbow. I wonder if there was a pot of gold at the end of it!

What a dream come true!
