Canada

Canada and Syria flags blended together

Two countries, a long distance between them, and they have different history, which means different cultures and big differences in most social activities.

Although Syria was the center of the largest empire in the sixth century, it is now a small third world country where the war has destroyed everything. On the contrary, Canada these days is one of the seven greatest economies in the world.

Briefly, Canada and Syria are two countries that differ from each other in so many ways. Canada is considered a first world country where English is the main spoken language while Syria is considered a third world country where Arabic is the main spoken language. In Canada, there are people from all over the world as it’s a multi-cultural country. In contrast, Syria is not considered a multi-cultural country, as most of its citizens are Syrians. Furthermore, Canada has a very cold winter with too much snow unlike Syrian winters when it only snows once or twice a year and the weather is considered to be mildly cold compared to the Canadian weather. Also, Canada is a very organized country where everyone follows the rules in comparison to Syria where rules and laws are more flexible, and life tends to be less organized. Also, families in Syria still keep on strong relations, while it is not so strong in Canada.

The most important difference is that the political system in Canada is opposite to the one in Syria: in Syria it’s based on a dictator system while in Canada it’s based on a liberal system. Moreover, life in Canada has great luxury, a valuable freedom and a tight system that protects the rights of citizens while life in Syria is simple, but without freedom, without a system that protects citizens and corruption grows to achieve the interests of the ruling class.

Although Syria and Canada have many differences, they still share some similarities. In Canada, people care about education and most schools are public schools where everyone could get their education without having to pay for it. Similarly, Syrian education system is considered to be one of the best where everyone could go to public schools as well as universities for free. Also, both Syria and Canada have beautiful forests where you could enjoy having a BBQ in summer with friends and family. In addition, Canada has many different cuisines, such as middle-eastern, Indian, Italian and Chinese. Likewise, Syria is famous with its middle-eastern cuisine and people could also enjoy other cuisines, such as Italian, Chinese and Indian.
