In Canada, society really relies too heavily on car transportation these days. The public transport is not developed and convenient. For example, in Oakville where I live, there are no bus stations in front of my house. The nearest bus station is 220 metres away. And there is only one bus - number 6 bus. In winter, you know, it is a long way to walk because of the snow. What is even worse is that a bus will come every 40 minutes. If I miss this bus I have to wait a long time for another one.  So, no one wants to take the public transport. It wastes too much time.

But in Guangzhou which is a large city of China, the public transport is very convenient. There are many bus stations; every station has many different number buses. You can take different buses to different places.  Even if you miss one bus, you could take another one about 5 minutes later. You just need to pay 2 Yuan once, about 0.4 dollar. It's very cheap. So people in Guangzhou do not rely on cars.  

A hundred years ago, there were no cars, no buses, even no bikes and people only used their two legs to walk. We can't imagine how hard their lives must have been.
