Settlement

My family and I moved to Canada almost seven years ago, in 2012. We immediately fell in love with Prince Edward Island, due to its beautiful beaches and kind people. We immigrated in summer, therefore the weather was nice, which helped us not get super sad about leaving our country, as it almost felt like a vacation at first.

Besides liking the place, of course the transfer was also stressful in a way for my family as well. The reason being, that all of us had to learn how to speak a new language and get accommodated into the new culture. But looking back now, I’m happy that we moved to Canada, because my kids have been exposed to opportunities that they would not have been back home. Additionally, I’m even more excited and grateful for what the future holds for them.

We also miss some of the family members, but we see them once a year, when we go to our homeland during the summer.
