word 'Story' hung on strings, yellow background

I'm Sinan and I am 38 years old. I was born in Iraq, Baghdad which is the capital of Iraq. I have a Bachelor Certificate in Computer Science. After my graduation, I worked with private companies, especially those which were specialized in the petroleum services and general trading. I have a wide range of experience in operation management and special projects. In addition to my background in logistic services, I have experience in pricing and offer preparation.

In 2014, I escaped from Iraq with all my family to Turkey and settled in Istanbul. This was a result of the internal fighting in my home country and armed groups taking control of vast areas. We stayed two and a half years in Turkey and that really was a very hard period of time for us because we fled from our country leaving behind us everything we had, everything we knew.

Finally, on February 1 2017, we arrived in Canada. This came after facing a lot of suffering that met us along our journey beginning from the first day we left Iraq until we reached Canada. My children were very tired, psychologically and physically, upon our arrival. I am thankful to our sponsor, who is my cousin who did a great thing for us and didn't leave us until our situation was stable. They still support us with any information about our new, amazing country, the country of peace.

Day by day, our life going forward becomes more stable. During the first week of my arrival, I managed to get a job and within two weeks, I moved to another company and I’m still working there. I acquired many skills within a short period and then managed to get a work promotion.  I’m still trying to do my best to improve and develop my English language but maybe I'll need some time to reach my target. The important thing for me is to keep going toward my target and I'm sure I will get it. Well, that’s my story, I don't have anything to add, I just want to say “Thanks Canada for everything”
