Celebration

Spring Festival is the biggest and the most important festival in China. It means the start of Chinese New Year, also means the beginning of spring, and more, it means family union. For almost every Chinese family, its members will get together for this Festival from all over the country.  Some people even come back home to China from all over the world.

During 7 days of this festival, the biggest traffic volume in the world will be produced; in 2019, the number of people on the road reached 3 billion in total. Even though the traffic is crowded and difficult, it cannot stop the desire of going back home. Many people working outside home city try hard to get a train ticket, just because a train ticket is the cheaper way to go back home. When they go back home, all fatigue from the journey has gone; happiness will accompany them from their family union until the end of Spring Festival. But the memory of family will stay with them for the whole year at all times.

Another interesting thing is eating during Spring Festival. People usually will eat too much during this time. Family parties continue again and again with different family members. Many delicious foods can be found at this Festival. Usually people enjoy dumplings in Northern China. In Southern China we eat a lot of fish and hot pot.  Some people enjoy a lot of Chinese wine called White Spirit. It is stronger than normal wine!

China has over 5000 years’ history, Spring Festival is one of the most important culture from its history.
