Celebration

dates, water and holy book on prayer rug

Ramadan is a month full of meaning for every Muslim in the world men, women, children everyone celebrates this month in special ways. The main practice devoted in this month is FASTING we start fasting from the sunrise till the sunset, and if you ask me when a Muslim start fasting the answer will be every adult should fasting except particular situation such as pregnant women, travelers, and patients. Also fasting not just related to Muslim religion other religion also have fasting but maybe it different on the time or the requirements or the time.

The main reasons for fasting are showing our obedience to our God’s will, we learn self-control, and to feel on others. During 330 days of the year we eat and drink whenever we need but in this month we should have control of our self and just eat when the time that the god allows us to eat,and it is a good time to break some habits that we are addicted to, such as having coffee every morning. Also, in this month you can obviously notice that the doing charity work and donation increase so much and that comes back for two reason the first one that the good work we do it in the month the rewards from our god increase much more ,and the second ones that when we fast the whole day and feel hunger we feel in the ones who do not have any food  we fasting but we know that after that we will have a delicious feast but there are many people that they feel hungry the whole year not just for few hours a day, and our prophet Muhammad said :(A man is not a believer who fills his stomach while his neighbour is hungry).

Usually, we start the month with a special decoration includes lunar, stars, ornaments, lights, and lamps. The kids enjoy this part so much and usually they do not fast as the adults fastbut some of children fast just from the morning to the afternoon, or some of them from the afternoon to the sunset and when the month end they get a big gift for their completion and that a good exercise for them to get used to patience. For the adults usually we start the days with reading our holly book Quran, and then we start our ordinary work then we have a nap at the afternoon after that we start to prepare for the IFTAR usually the feast of Ramadan is rich and delicious. We usually start the Iftar with water and three date fruits and then some people love to pray” alMaghreb“before they start their main course. After that there a special pray in Ramadan calls ”AL TARAWIH” we do it before we sleep it is not imposed to do it,but we love to do it because this month is full of spirituality and by increasing our devotion we feel that we are closer to our creator, after that we sleep, then we wake up before the daybreak and we have a meal it is similar to breakfast it calls ”AL SUHOOR”then we pray  “Fajer” and sleep again, that was my daily routine in Ramadan .After the 29 or 30 days of fasting, we have a special celebration as a reward from the god it calls “EidAlfeter”.

Finally, every religion has her own practice and the main purpose of all religions is to be a better person for each other and beneficial members of the society and to build a human civilization based on respect and ethics.
