Education

textbooks, graduation cap and diploma over canada flag

I am Iranian and I came to Canada in June of 2018. I have two kids in grade four and grade one and they enjoy school here in Canada.

There are some differences between the educational system in Canada compared to Iran.
In my opinion, the curriculum in Iran is much richer than here. It is true that the students are under more pressure than here, but on the other hand they learn much more than here. This causes them to expand their talent and ingenuity.

Also, teachers back home want the students to do more homework than here and each grade has a few specific books that they have to bring home and work on. They need to pass an exam for each book to reach a higher grade. This is especially true for university, they have to pass a specific entrance exam, simply known as Konkour, which is a standardized test used as a means to gain admission to higher education in Iran. It includes some tests from the last four years of high school and it is the hardest and most stressful stage of education in Iran. If they fail, they will not be able to go on to a higher grade. The negative part of this is that make students and families stressed out.

Therefore, I think the students like to study in Canada better since it is easier here.
