I came to Canada almost five years ago. When I was young, I never thought about living in another country, but I’m happy to be here. I have learned many interesting things and truly become in love with Canada.

My first year in Canada was very exciting and difficult at the same time. I got a job in one of the stores at a shopping mall one month upon arrival. But I felt that my English was very poor and I had to attend courses to improve my language skills. My job at Ardene store and also attending an English course in college gave me an amazing chance to make new friends and  to get work experience in a young team.

When I lived in Ukraine, I never heard words like wind chill or snow drifting. It was hard to believe that you need to go to work when outside feels like -50 degree Celsius. One time in my first winter in Canada I heard one joke about weather in Saskatchewan: we have only two seasons per year – winter and July. This year we had the longest and the coldest winter ever.

In the same year I came to Canada, I got pregnant with my first baby and after his birth I left my job and decided to stay at home. Our city has only two daycares and to leave a baby with babysitter is very expensive.  Now I am a mom of two boys and every day from morning until evening I have the best job in the world – to be a mom.

My life has changed every year. I visited many interesting places and met many different people from around the world. Last year me and my family had a trip to Banff National Park and Lake Louise. We also spent two amazing days in West Edmonton Mall – the largest shopping mall in North America with fantastic Waterpark and Galaxy land inside.

I don’t have a big plan for the future because my dreams come true almost every day when I see my happy family together.
