My name is Wedad and I was born in Sudan. I have five brothers and three sisters. My father died when I was only five years old. I was very young and in kindergarten when my father died. I don’t remember anymore about my childhood. I just remember my older brother lived with us with his wife and they were nice to me. They took care of me. They also paid for my school. My brother's name is Ahmed. I hope in the future he can come to Canada with his wife and his kids. I would like him to live with us so I can repay his kindness.

When I was 16 years old I graduated from high school. After that, I studied French language in the University of Sudan. My education was for four years. When I finished my education I wasn’t able to work and improve my language because I got married and was very busy all the time. So, in 2013 I got married. My wedding was a huge wedding because I am the last child in my family. My first meeting with my husband was 6 months before my wedding. This was because we lived in different countries.

I came to Canada after I had been married for one year. When I came to Canada, I thought Canada was avery big and there were a lot of differences between Canada and my home country. For example the life style was different. Also it was hard for me because I wasn’t familiar with the culture and the language that was spoken. However, I liked the weather, people, health care centre, government, shopping and everything in Canada.

Then I had one son. He is now one and half years old and I also have another baby on the way in September.

I am a housewife right now and my work is to take care of my son and husband also. I love to cook for my husband. He works very hard at his job too. In Canada I want my kids to have a good future. I think Canada is the best country to live in because it is a peaceful country. For myself I think when I improve my English I would like to get a diploma. I will look for job when my kids are grownup. I am happy in Canada.
