Celebration

Wedding still life gift

Different cultures celebrate marriage in different ways. The Arab culture celebrates their weddings in a very unique way. Countries in North Africa follow similar traditions and other countries in the Mediterranean have their own way. For example people in Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine have very festive wedding parties. To begin with, some families like to splurge on the wedding dress and location of the party, where others prefer moderate weddings. In most families the groom gifts the bride with a set of gold or diamond called “Talbeesah”.

They conduct large parties where the couple invites a big number of people in a banquet hall; parties start in the evening time till midnight where people enjoy traditional food and Arabic dancing with cultural loud music.

Some ceremonies start with a special Arabic group of dancers who perform “Dabkeh and Aradah” then they invite the bride and groom to open the stage for invitees to start dancing.

People enjoy the party till late at night, and then the close friends of the bride and groom drop them in cluster of cars to their hotel.
