Homeland

Shape 3d of Nigeria map with Nigerian flag illustration isolated on white background.

People in Nigeria are talking about the Fulani herdsmen attacking and killing other Nigerians. The Fulani herdsmen and some street vendors have attacked towns and villages in Enugu State. They previously attacked Nimbo community in Uzo Uwani local government area. The Fulani herdsmen killed over 40 people in the community, and the village security men abandoned their posts and ran away. The Fulani herdsmen are traditional pastoralists that live in the Northern part of Nigeria and are spread out all over Africa. They lead their cattle to graze in the northern, southern and eastern parts of Nigeria. The herdsmen are attacking the villagers, mostly farmers, because they have prevented them and their cattle from grazing in the villagers' farmland. The fighting and attacks between Fulani herdsmen and farmers have been occurring in Nigeria for the past several years. I think the Nigerian government must urgently find a lasting solution to the clashes to prevent them from becoming tribal wars and to avert further loss of lives and property. Nigerians need both farmers and pastoralists because they're both providing food for the country. They should come together and find a solution.
