India has one of the most unique food cultures in the world. The eating habits in India are based on region and tradition. In India most of population is vegetarian, but some community also eat meat like chicken, lamb and fish. Most dishes feature meat or vegetables mixed with sauce and rice. Many Indians are vegetarian, so eating habits are often based on a diet that excludes all meat. Indian women cook food for their family. She has all responsibility to preparation of food. Timing of food is similar to western pattern. But Indian people give more emphasis on breakfast food .Evening meal is big. All family members sit together and eat.

Some Indians eat their food by hand. Indian people eat a variety of different coloured food. If curries and rice are not being eaten, then breads, fruits and vegetables are consumed .Indian people used 10 to 12 spices in the food which gave good flavor and aroma to food. India has lots of diversity. Each region have their own dishes and way of cooking is different. Indian people prefer to eat raw vegetables and fruits. Indian people eat diary product and non-alcohol beverages.

Canadian people’s dietary habits are according to their likes or dislikes. Most Canadian people are non-vegetarian , so they eat all kind of meat and sea food. Most people eat can food or prepared food. Timing of food is similar, but they give more preference to dinner. Canadian people prefer steam /boiled food and baked bread. They just add salt and pepper in the food. Desert is baked cookies, muffins and cinnamon bus. They are drinking pop, wine, and other alcohol beverages. Canadian food is bland.
