Ingredients

  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup icing sugar
  • 185g or ¾ cup salted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 egg
  • 2tsp cocoa powder
  • 1-1/2tsp baking powder

Instructions

Sieve the flour, icing sugar, and baking powder. Beat the egg in a bowl and keep aside. In a large bowl mix all dry ingredients and then add the butter and work it by hand until it is well mixed in. Add the egg.

knead the dough until it is smooth. Divide the dough into four parts. Take one part and add in cocoa powder. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin into a half inch layer. Cut the biscuits in your desired shapes. Take another part of the dough and roll out and cut in squares. Sprinkle some crushed almonds on it. Take the third part, roll out and cut biscuits of desired shapes and put some jam in the center. Take the fourth part, roll out and put some shredded coconuts on top and then cut into biscuits. Preheat the oven for 20 minutes. Put the biscuits on a tray and bake at 300°F for maximum 20 minutes then check the biscuit bottom. When the bottoms turn golden, they are ready to take out of the oven. With this recipe, you can make four different types of biscuits in one go.
