Bios

My name is Karolina (Caroline). I was born in the Republic of Macedonia, in the capital city Skopje. Earlier my country was a part of the former Yugoslavia. Today, Macedonia is an independent and sovereign state. My native language is Macedonian. I have one sister and one nephew. My mother lives in Skopje and my father is deceased. When I was a little girl, I used to play teacher with chalk and a blackboard and I taught my dolls as my students. I sewed clothes for my dolls with my toy sewing machine. I enjoyed my childhood, and it will always stay in my best memories.

When I grew up, I graduated from a teacher’s college in Macedonia and was awarded with the professional title, Graduate Professor of Elementary Education. Sewing and design of the models and clothes became my favorite hobby.

I married in 1994. Now, I have two sons. In Macedonia, I worked for two years as a teacher in elementary school. I also worked one year as a designer in a tailor's shop. Later, we went to the Middle East where my husband worked since 2007.

We lived there until 2016. Those years were the greatest years of my life because my second son was born at that time and we also traveled around the world. We travelled to several countries like Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Seychelles, United States, Canada, and also to my country Macedonia.

I came to Canada with my family in March, 2016. We purchased a house and we live in the beautiful outskirts of Toronto.

I am a housewife right now and my duty is to take care of my sons and my husband too. I love to cook for my family. Cooking is my favorite activity and I’m a really great cook. My dream is one day to have my own restaurant and to serve some Macedonian traditional meals here in Canada. I want my kids to have a good future in Canada. My older son is a student at York University. I believe that Canada is a very nice place to live in. Canada is a peaceful country and also has a wonderful natural environment which will impress anyone who chooses to live or visit this beautiful country. Canada is the preferred destination for many people. I found Canadian people to be very nice and helpful. For me Canada is the promised land.

This is my short life story. I hope one day I can speak and write fluently the English language because this was my wish since I was 10 years old. I wish my two sons to have a good and successful life in Canada.
