Celebration

Groom and bride with beautiful ring and bouquet

In my country, people start to date at around the age of 18, when they are adults. Usually, they meet in coffee stores or restaurants. Often the man brings the woman a gift on the first date to show his interest in her. But he can’t pick the woman up at her house until they are engaged.

Getting married in my country is a dream of many couples. This is largely because of the many fascinating wedding traditions that have contributed to the country’s reputation as the epicentre of romance.

A wedding often starts with a civil ceremony in the morning, or at night and it is followed by a religious ceremony, then a small cocktail reception (a vin d'honneur) including a four or five-course meal, and dancing always begins between dinner courses.

The couple has many guests invited at least one month ago. At the ceremony they have different types of food, drinks, and desserts.

When the ceremony is finished, the groom and the bride put on the rings and dance to romantic music. After that, she tosses the flowers to her single friends and then they go to a hotel for relaxation. Or they go on a honeymoon trip.
