Entrance of Raohe Street Night Market in Taipei (taiwan)

The night market culture of Taiwan is managed by the institution of the yeshi and is all across the island. It is a market that you can find everywhere in Taiwan at night. There are a lot of typical Taiwanese street food, clothing, games, fun, and music. Each night market has its own traditions and characteristics. Tourists love to visit night markets and learn about different specialties and cultures from local areas.

The night market is fun for the family to walk around after dinner or if your family would like to eat out for dinner. There are many famous and unique local street foods ranging from oyster omelettes to tempura, spring rolls, rice tube pudding, fried rice noodles, soups, sweet cakes, and bottle teas. Food is cheap and very delicious and each specialty gives you an insight about the people of its area.

Here are some street foods you must try in the night market. First, bubble tea or pearl tea is milky tea with chewy tapioca balls. It is a worldwide tea. Second, flame grilled beef cubes are made using a large blowtorch to cook the grilled beef cubes to be juicy and tender with a choice of different seasonings (black pepper, Japanese teriyaki sauces, Xinjiang cumin, rose pink salt, Hungarian pepper). Third, stinky tofu is served crispy in squares with pickles. It smells stinky but it tastes great and full of flavour. I would recommend to have a little spice on it. Next, popcorn chicken is fried mini breaded chicken with spicy salt pepper. Each piece of chicken is piping hot and very delicious with a slight saltiness and fried with chopped garlic and basil as your choices. The more you try the foods, the more you will enjoy the time in the night market.

If you want to get any new fashion ideas, the night market is a great place to shop and look for the newest outfit ideas. Not only are adults having fun, but also kids, too. There are tons of games for kids to play such as, throwing balls in baskets, fishing little fishes, playing cards, and target games. Moreover, you can order a song to sing at karaoke or buy any old or new CDs.

It is a lot of fun and you can enjoy time with your family at night for an hour. We like to visit night markets to reduce our stress from the day. I will recommend you don't bring too much money or you will spend it all.
