Family

I had been away from my hometown and my mother for two and a half years. So, this year, when I visited my native country, and my mom’s birthday came, I wanted to celebrate her birthday with her in a big way.

The celebration began in the morning. I prepared longevity noodles for her. Back home, longevity noodles are symbols of health and happiness. I also gave my mother a pair of comfortable shoes. She liked them very much. She said she will wear them every day. In the evening, we invited relatives and friends to have dinner at her favourite restaurant. After the meal, everyone sang birthday songs and offered good wishes to her.

My mother said that this was an unforgettable and truly a very happy birthday for her, because all the people she was close to, were there to celebrate, and what was more, I was by her side! To make her happiness complete, there was a new family member, my daughter, who was with her on this birthday. Mom said she couldn’t ask for more!

My mom's birthday was thus the highlight of my trip to my hometown!
