Bios

My name is Rama. I was born in Syria in 1993. l have four brothers and one sister and l love my family. My childhood was beautiful. I think when people get older they remember their childhood and they wish to be kids again. This is how I feel about my childhood. I want to return to it. I loved my school, teachers, and friends. I told my father that I wanted to be a children's doctor in the future. I left school when I was in ninth grade because the school was too far from my house. We lived on a farm.

I met my husband because he was my mother's cousin. We got married in 2011 and I left Aleppo before the war started. l went to Jordan and stayed there for a year. I was waiting to get my permanent residency to come to Canada.  

I finally came to Canada in 2013. When I arrived I was very happy. I felt comfortable in Canada and the people were great. I saw a new country full of interesting activities. The first place I went to was Niagara Falls. This place is amazing. I slept in a hotel and saw beautiful fireworks.   

Now I have a new life and family. I have two boys and one girl and we live on a farm. We have twenty sheep, a hundred chickens, and a dog, her name is Boche. I help my husband to take care of them. Now the sheep are pregnant and they will give birth in April. When they give birth, we will milk them. I’m excited about that. Every day I collect the eggs from the chickens. I’m studying English now, so I can apply for the Early Childhood Education program.  

These days the snow falls, and I like snow. I will make a snow man. According to weather report, it’s going to be colder next month. 

My husband and I would like to make the farm into a business. I will take driving lessons and get a license soon. In the summer I will go to Turkey and visit my family. l miss my family. I hope I will be successful.
