Employment

I would like to talk about my work in Canada. In 2010, I came from Ukraine to a small town in Saskatchewan called Rosthern. I was a simple worker at a dairy farm. In principle, we can say that I started to work in my field, because at home I was also a farmer. The work was very difficult, unlike the work I did in Ukraine. We worked for 12 hours, six days a week with two days off. In Ukraine, I worked on a grain farm, but it was a little easier. Even though the work in Canada was difficult, I did not lose heart. I knew, that everything would be fine, and that these were temporary difficulties. I’m not afraid of hard work. I worked on a dairy farm for 13 months, and then it so happened that I needed to return to Ukraine to get my family (my wife and son) and bring them to Canada.

Everything went well and we all came back to Canada together. This time we flew to Saskatchewan, but to the big city - Saskatoon. Here I met a very nice person who later became my current employer. It’s now been 5 years that I’ve worked in this company. It’s a concrete company, and I work as a concrete mixer driver. This is an interesting job and I always need to be very responsible. First of all, everything is aimed at safety (SAFETY FIRST!). It is my responsibility to correctly mix concrete and deliver it to the client on time. Also, here in Canada, I got the 1 class driver license, so it’s been very useful to me for my work. I have managed to find work that I enjoy!

In conclusion, there is work in Canada for everyone, and everyone can find something, so do not despair!
