My name is Taslima. I was born in Bangladesh. In my paternal family, I have my parents, a younger sister, a brother and myself. I grew up in Dhaka city which is the capital city of Bangladesh and was married in 2004. I successfully completed my Masters of Commerce (M.Com) degree in Accounting in 2012. In 2011, I joined the Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) after completing my university studies. In 2008, I gave birth to my first baby. Then in 2015, my family, including myself, my husband and our two children moved to Canada as immigrants. In 2016, I gave birth to my youngest baby boy in Canada. Finally, we started our new life! It was very difficult at first. The environment and lifestyle are totally different from back home. In Canada, we struggled a lot to adjust with people from different cultures and with different languages. Eventually, my husband found a better job for our survival. My children were admitted in the new school nearby the residential area and made new friends and learned English. Today, I am a homemaker, do all the household chores and look after my family. I am now also improving my English in my LINC Home Study classes. My teacher is Anne Fitterer who is a very helpful and enthusiastic lady. The Canadian government is also very helpful to immigrants because they offer different programs to newcomers and their families. All in all, we are happy in Canada by the grace of The Almighty Lord Allah.
