Diary on wooden background with word

My name is Faezeh, and I was born in Iran. My parents were high school teachers, but unfortunately I lost my mom when I was 15 due to breast cancer when she was only 36 years old and 2 years later my dad passed away because of the heart attack at age 46. It was a huge grief for myself and my brother who is even 2 years younger than me! But we decided to face adversity, fight all problems and as a result we have built resilience.

I graduated as a chemical engineer and when I was 20 I married a lovely and supportive man who is always with me to face all my problems. We had our company and worked hard together; he is an auditor in Quality Management System and I was a consultant in the same field.

After 6 years we had our first lovely son and when he was 6 months old, we decided to immigrate to Canada, but our process took too long for us - almost 4 years! I started to learn French to apply as a skilled worker for Quebec despite having learned English since I was 12 years old! But learning French had so much influence on my English! We landed in Montréal and I continued my education in French university until I was pregnant with my little second son! At that time we decided to move to Ontario, which was for me another immigration! That change was too hard for all of us. After one year thinking about myself and my goals, my new situation in a new city and my limitations especially after giving birth to my second son, I decided to change my field completely and to find a home-based job to be able to spend more time with my kids and with minimum stress level as I had spent most of my life in stress!

My husband is always on business trips and as I have to stay at home with my children, first of all I decided to improve my English with LINC Home Study. At the same time I started searching for a job. I spoke with others, I listen to TED Talks to learn from experience of successful people and to find out how we can find a proper job pathway that we would really like and which would work for our situation. I realized my passion has always been in teaching, so I finally decided to be a registered yoga teacher because I had been doing yoga for years before immigrating to Canada.

I learned when life pulls you under, you can kick against the problems, break the surface and breathe again.
