I am Iqra and I come from Pakistan. I belong to an educated Punjabi family. My father was a social welfare officer who was very educated, generous, a great thinker and an open-minded person and he died in December 2011. My mother was a headmistress; she is a very religious and noble woman. So from my childhood I have seen two different perspectives. My personality comprises both qualities. They both have taught their children generosity, good values and respect. In our home education was a priority. My father always said an uneducated person may earn better, but an educated person gives the world something magnificent. So don’t be curious about money, always try to be good first. I always thank God because I was lucky enough to have educated parents because there is a specific group still who is spreading negativity like a gender inequality, beauty consciousness, religion extremism, jealousy and conventional impressions. For example religion restricts individual freedom and gender inequalities.

Since my childhood I have had a passion to learn and enlighten my mind. After completing my intermediate study, I started B.Sc. (hons) in Mass Media and Communication Studies. That was the best time period in my life which I spent in university. I learned a real meaning of life from there. I made a large number of friends there, experienced many new things and promised myself I will dedicate my life to acquire knowledge. In 2011 when I was in 7th semester my father died. That was the most heart breaking duration of my life because I lost my strength. That incident totally shattered my personality and I started to isolate myself. After completing my degree, I decided to get higher education and I started M.Sc. in my field from different university. I was totally smashed from inside, but there was one thing which plucked me out and that was the idea of being a daughter of a strong man who wanted to see his daughter beaming.

I got married with my cousin after I had done my M.Sc. study. After one year I gave birth to a beautiful daughter. I can’t describe in words how much I love this little creature of God. My daughter fulfills colours in my life. My husband lived in Canada and he sponsored our daughter and me. In mid-October 2017 we reached Canada. Now I am living with my husband and daughter. My husband is a very hardworking man. He really takes care of my daughter and me. Yet we are living in my brother’s-in-law home, but I am hopeful soon we will have our own home. I really love the life in Canada. Here in Canada there are many productive opportunities and learning possibilities. My daughter is too small that’s why I can’t start any job this time, but I will go ahead soon. I will obtain more education and start my own business. Thanks to my teacher Alena who motivates me toward learning. Now again I want to live my life with full passion and I will work hard to make all my dreams come true.
