Cute American shorthair cat kitten

I would like to tell a true story about my oldest son Alex. This story happened when he was a little boy. Our neighbour's cat gave birth to six kittens in their summer house. Of course, as soon as my son saw the "Kittens to good hands" sign in our neighbour's yard, he wanted to go take a look at them. My husband and I knew if our son saw the kittens, he was bound to want one for a pet. Day in and day out, Alex kept asking when we could to see the kittens. But we tried to avoid seeing them. He wanted to see the kittens anyway. Finally, we gave in and went to our neighbour.

There were several other people looking at the kittens. Our neighbour was standing next to the box and handed out kittens to the left and to the right, for people to have a look. My husband and son went to see the kittens, but I wanted nothing to do with them. I stayed near the door and tried not to be in anyone's way.

After looking at the kittens, my son ran over to me. "Come and see Mom!" he said. "There are three boy kittens and three girl kittens". I asked my son, "How can you tell the boys from the girls?" Alex said, "Dad told me. He turned them upside down and looked under them. I think it's written on the bottom!"
