Steel dish with Chicken Curry. Roti in foil behind bowl

Serving: 4 people

Cooking time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Chicken: about 1/2 kg medium sized pieces
  • Onion: 1 medium size
  • Tomato: 1 medium size
  • Ginger & garlic paste: 1\2 teaspoon
  • Salt:   1+1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cloves: 3 or 4
  • Gram masala: 1/3 teaspoon
  • Green chilies: 3
  • Oil: 1/4 cup
  • Water :3 cups

All the above spices are available in most grocery stores in “International food” aisle.

Preparation:

  1. First add chopped onion in the oil and cook it until golden brown, then add chicken in it, and cook until chicken becomes soft.
  2. Add ginger, garlic paste and tomato in it and cook until tomatoes are softened and get mixed completely.
  3. Now add all spices.
  4. Add water three cups and cover the pot. Let it cook for 15 minutes on low flame.
  5. Turn off the flame and garnish it with green peppers.

Serve it with hot chapatis or rice.
