Maple Sap Dripping into a Bucket

Extremely cold temperature was new for me in my first winter in Canada. However, there were three good things for me. First, I saw a lot of things were frozen, for example streams, lakes, trees and windows for the first time. I could see beautiful snow crystals too. Those were mysterious and impressive. Second, I enjoyed winter events, such as Christmas market, Christmas party and Maple syrup Festival. Third, I enjoyed playing in the snow with my little son. He cried when he touched the snow for the first time. But he got used to snow soon and enjoyed very much.

However, the cold of winter in Toronto was hard for me. The lowest temperature was minus 20°C. When I was in Japan, I couldn’t even imagine how cold that was. But my son wanted to go out every day. My husband bought new coats and boots for me and my son. Those were very warm, but I still felt cold when I stayed outside for a long time. Also the winter was so long. I really missed Japan in March and April, because a lot of my friends in Japan posted pictures of cherry blossoms on Facebook and Instagram. Now, I’m so glad that the long winter is over. It is the happiest spring ever for me.
