Driving

behind the shoulder shot of man driving in city. Cars and truck visible in front windshield

After I came to Canada, I was surprised that there are many female drivers on the streets. When I lived in South Korea, there were very few female drivers. Men usually drive for their families in South Korea. Recently, the number of female drivers has increased with the increase of career women.

South Korea has a lot of easy transportation options because it is not as big a country as Canada. In fact, Canada is 45 times bigger than South Korea. The parking lots in my hometown in Canada are also bigger and wider than in South Korea. The road lanes are also wider in Canada than in South Korea. There are no traffic jams where I live in the countryside in Canada. I have heard that the bigger cities, like Toronto and Montreal, have heavy traffic jams. Seoul, my hometown in South Korea, is also very congested. Since the roads are wide in Canada, it seems that many drivers like to speed. I have noticed this especially in my town. On the other hand, some seniors drive too slowly, so sometimes I feel frustrated!
