Masala Fried Chip Pizza

This delicious Pakistani inspired pizza enjoyed by both children and adults is simple to make.
The homemade pizza crust is fabulous and you can choose from a variety of fresh and healthy toppings.
Preparation Time: 45 minutes
Serves 6
Chips
Ingredients:
- 2 - medium russet potatoes
- 2 - tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 - teaspoon salt
- 1/2 - teaspoon dry mint powder
- 1/4 - teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 - teaspoon ground red pepper
- 1/8 - teaspoon citric acid
- 2 - cups vegetable oil
Instructions:
- Peel, wash and cut potatoes into wedges
- Place wedges in large bowl, add salt and let them sit for ten minutes
- Rinse and drain the potato wedges well and lightly pat dry
- Mix cornstarch, salt, mint powder, citric acid, red and black pepper together in a small bowl then sprinkle the spice mix over the potato wedges
- Mix well so all the wedges are covered with spices
- Heat oil in frying pan on medium *(Tip: The frying pan should have at least 1 1/2 inches of oil. To check if the oil is ready, just put potato wedge in frying pan. Potato should sizzle.)
- Place the potato wedges carefully into the hot oil and fry till golden
- Turn the wedges over a few times while frying
- Remove fries from oil and place on paper towel
Pizza Dough
Ingredients:
- 2 - tsp. or 1 packet of yeast
- ½ - tsp. of sugar
- 1 - cup of hot water
- 4 - cups of flour
- 1 - tsp. of salt
- 1/3 - cup of oil
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, mix yeast and sugar, then add water and mix again
- Cover bowl with kitchen towel and let sit for 10 minutes
- In a large mixing bowl, sift flour and salt
- Make a small well in the middle and pour the yeast mixture and olive oil in
- Slowly mix the dry and wet ingredients using a fork
- Keep mixing, gradually adding the remainder of the flour *(Tip: Use dough-making machine with a dough hook tool to mix all the ingredients together. Mix dough thoroughly. Add more water until the dough is moist and slightly sticky.)
- When the ingredients are well mixed, knead the dough with flour-dusted hands
- Place dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a kitchen towel. Set aside for 60 to 90 minutes in a warm area until dough has doubled in size
- Place dough on a flour-dusted surface and knead to pull the air out
- Divide dough into two and shape into smooth balls
- Place the balls well apart on baking parchment, cover loosely and let rise for additional 60 to 90 minutes.
- Roll each ball out on a flour-dusted surface into a circle to fit your pizza pan
Sauce and Toppings
Ingredients:
- Ready made pizza sauce of your choice
- Grated mozzarella cheese
- Bell peppers
- Green Olives
- Onions
- Tomatoes
- Chips
Instructions:
- Pre-heat oven at 300 degrees C.
- Spread pizza sauce on top of pizza dough with a spoon or brush
- Sprinkle a generous amount of grated mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce
- Add suggested toppings
- Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
- Slice and serve your yummy Fried Chip Pizza to friends and family.
