Travel (Outside of Canada)

On March 28/18 at 11 a.m., my husband, my son and I boarded the cruise ship “Celebrity” in Fort Lauderdale, close to Miami Beach. From there we cruised all day and through the night.

At 7 the next morning, the ship docked in Nassau, Bahamas.  After breakfast, we left the ship and walked around the hotel district for the first part of the day. It is very beautiful. We visited the Atlantis Hotel, which has a huge salt-water aquarium filled with many colourful fish. Following this, we took a bus tour around the city. The areas that we saw while travelling on the bus are in very bad condition. Those areas are where the locals live. We returned to the ship around 5pm to have dinner. We were served a delicious beef dinner.

The next day, we stayed on the boat as it cruised toward Florida. We swam in the pool, and watched the Hobbit during the afternoon and a show at night with singing and dancing.

On the third day, we landed in Key West at 6 am. We left the boat around 10 am, and went walking around Key West. My son swam at the beach. My husband and I sat under the trees by ocean watching my son swim. We all drank fresh coconut milk. In the afternoon, my son and I went parasailing. It was amazing. I loved the sensation of gliding through the air. I can’t wait to go again.

As the sun was setting, we headed back toward the ship for our final night. We ate a delicious lobster dinner and watched a talk show. Almost everyone laughed during the show including my son, but I did not understand what host was saying, so I left my son and my husband to go shopping. I bought myself a beautiful ring to remember my trip.

Finally, our boat berthed at the Fort Lauderdale terminal the next morning. We waved good-bye to cruise ship and then jumped in a cab.   It was a great family excursion. I think we will go again next year.
