Activity

group of friends around campfire

Camping every summer is a must do for me and my friends. We tend to do it every year now with our wives, girlfriends/boyfriends, and children. We were a big group of people back then and are much bigger now as a family.

So, we needed a campsite that could accommodate us. Algonquin Park, a place to visit, is the biggest campsite in Ontario, Canada. The camp site is so humongous; you have to choose which section you'll go to.

Some areas have electricity and washrooms, while other areas don't! It was actually my first time and for some of my friends as well, to see a moose, and a bear roam freely in the wild. We were thrilled to see them out there in the open rather than inside cages. We also saw a fox and a deer.

We stayed for three to four days, enough to forget work during these days and feel relaxed. You woke up in the morning feeling peaceful and at peace with nature. There are no loud noises of vehicles around, and you get to smell the very fresh air which can be quite invigorating.

We love the north! Our first day at the campsite was spent putting up the tent, preparing our food and in the night, a bonfire. We gathered around and sang songs. Tagay!

The second day, we did several activities like canoeing, jet skiing, fishing and swimming all day. Luckily, we didn’t get sunburned.

Our third day, we did some hiking and bought some souvenirs.

Finally, on the fourth day we packed up all of our things and got ready to return to the city, to reality and the hustle and bustle of cosmopolitan life. And the next day, back to reality. I'm glad, blessed and happy to have these few days of just relaxing with my friends and without worrying about anything. I've called it ME time.
