I was born in Eritrea and my parents named me Tsighereda because they liked that name. It means “rose” in my language. I completed high school in Mendefera. Next, I got high marks on exams to enter college. I studied three years in the field of electricity and graduated in 2000. After graduation I worked in an electronic shop as a salesperson.

I got married in Asmara, the capital city of Eritrea in 2010, and then had three boys born in Asmara. In 2016, I escaped with my family across the border from my country to Sudan. I stayed in Sudan only five days and after that I went to Kampala, Uganda. My religion is Pentecostal which the government of Eritrea doesn’t like. People there don't have freedom to go to church to worship God. For this reason I was living as an immigrant in Kampala from 2016 to 2017.

In September 2017, I arrived in Canada from Kampala as a refugee. I was six and a half months pregnant with my fourth child, but I came safely with my family as newcomers. After two months I delivered my new baby – my fourth boy, born in Canada. I think Canada is a peaceful country. There are four seasons here and during the wintertime Canada is very cold. In spring, l like the flowers because my son always brings me wildflowers when he comes home from school. My son has improved his English. I like summer more because of Canada Day. I spend great times with my family at the beach. Canada is for me and my family a nice country.
