COVID-19

Although, Covid-19 has caused hardship for many families in Canada and around the world, my family has benefited from this pandemic in many ways. First, my husband, son and I are spending more quality time together. For example, instead of driving to Saskatoon every weekend to run errands and visit friends, we are devoting our free time to doing fun activities such as painting, doing puzzles, baking, building things with Lego, reading children’s books, listening to fun music, making puppet shows, etc. Another benefit is that we are spending a lot less money. Since the beginning of the outbreak, the malls and restaurants have been closed, so our expenditures on gas, eating in restaurants, buying clothes or shopping for household items have been dramatically reduced. We have more money left in the bank at the end of the month. As a result, we feel more relaxed. Lastly, everyone in my family is developing good personal hygiene. My husband and my son have never liked washing their hands. Now, they always make sure to wash them or use hand sanitizer whenever we go out. We also respect the health of others by wearing masks when we go shopping or visit older people. Overall, Covid-19 has brought awareness to our family of what is really important in life: quality time with family, financial security, and good health.
