woman speaking - letters on wall

Learning English as a second language is the longest journey you can make ever. Sometimes it seems so difficult for you, but if you make good choices it will be exciting and successful journey. From my experience I will give you some tips for making your journey easier. When I came to Canada, I kept myself connecting with people who speaks my mother language, and it was the wrong choice I ever made I didn't learn anything, so my English wasn't improving. So the first thing I will suggest to you, Don't make friends with just who speaks your language. Make new friends with people by talking English. They will help you so much to improve your speaking skills. Not just you're going to learn English you will learn a lot about the culture, and everything belong to your new country as well. Next step find a good English school to attend. English schools are a great idea to have huge improving in your skills. There are a lot of schools that have good teachers everyone will be happy to take your hand in your trip and go with you step by step. Next step listen then listen to English until you can improve your listen skills. Listen to news, movies, and everything you can listen to during your day. Start with news, in beginning it will be so hard to understand everything don't worry about your understanding just keep listening. Your mine will absorb a lot of language even without feeling, then over the time you will notice a big difference in your understanding. Now a big suggestion, don't be shy to speak English with the native people. They understand what you are going through it, so everyone want to help. As you see we have a lot of nationalities with different pronunciation, so don't be shy and be yourself. Something else, if you have children with school age that will give you big chance to practice your speaking skills. Help your kids with the homework, talk with them at least one hour during the day.

There are a lot of websites you can do it together, or read stories with them.

Last thing I would like to share with you, be positive don't put yourself under pressure. Do your part then watch yourself growing with your knowledge. Now I can say to you good luck with your journey.
