Parenthood

Daisies on green nature background, stages of growth

Every person and culture have a basic philosophy about how to raise children. I have been doing research and so far, this is my favourite quote, “Just like a seed that needs intensive care to grow into a magnificent tree, a child needs the same amount of love, effort, care, and kindness to grow into a healthy, aware, responsible adult. A sapling doesn't grow with neglect, thirst, or underfeeding, and neither do children. Fulfilling their various needs will help them grow into fine grown-ups who repay kindness with kindness and return love with love.”

I totally I agree with this philosophy. Being a parent is a huge responsibility that we always carry on our shoulders. A responsibility that we shouldn’t set aside and do later if we have time. To raise our children to become good people, we must set ourselves as a good example for them by teaching them how to show respect, love, kindness to everyone. We must attend to our children’s needs and comforts, but we also need to attend to their inner feelings and hopes. As parents, we have to show them how to take personal responsibility as well not just providing them with help all the time. When our children are still young, we have to practice responsibility with them, so when they grow older, they already know what to do. Good parenting is not an easy task. We need to give our children strict rules and discipline them when they break them. Also, we have to be firm with our decisions even though sometimes it hurts our children’s feelings. Likewise, being a good parent is an awesome responsibility because not all people have this opportunity to be parents. Our children are the most amazing gift from God that we have to cherish every moment of our lives. To nurture our children and give them our unconditional love, support, endless care, and protection. These are the most beautiful things that we can offer them for the rest of our life.
