Extreme Closeup of New Polymer Twenty Dollar Bills

I heard a lot about Canadian's warmth and hospitality, but I didn't really believe it until a little thing happened to me on my first visit to Canada as an immigrant many years ago.

Our flight landed at Toronto Airport, and my wife and I sat in a hall near the gate and waited for the next flight to Montreal. An old lady sitting beside me dropped a piece of paper and I picked it up and gave it back to her and we started talking to kill time. I told her that I came to Canada with the hope of changing my life and look forward to seeing more. She told us a lot about Canada and people here.

I can feel through her words that she loves this country and is proud of living here. At the end of our conversation, she gave me a brand new $20 bill as her way of welcoming us to Canada. She said she just wanted us to start our lives with a very positive impression. I was surprised and very much appreciated her warm gesture. This is so important for us to be confident about our future in Canada. It has been many years, but this is crossing my mind often and this memory will never slip my mind.
