Freshly baked Apple pie on the table with apples, piece in plate

Sharlotka is the name of a traditional Russian pie. It’s a pie made with apples and cooked for a long time. Today, I will share the recipe of this traditional pie with you so you can enjoy it too!

Ingredients:

  • 200 g flour
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • dash of vinegar
  • 200 g sugar
  • 2 apples
  • dried apricots, raisins (as many as you like based on your preference)

*Note: Instead of using baking soda and vinegar, you can also use baking powder.

Instructions:

First, with a mixer, mix eggs with sugar until white.

Then, mix together soda and vinegar and add to previous mixture of eggs and sugar. Mixture should have cream-like consistency; make sure there are no clumps.

Next, slice apples. At the bottom of a glass dish, lay sliced apples (for baking this dish, it is better to use a glass dish).

Then, add mixture.

After, preheat oven and bake for about 25 - 35 minutes at 180 - 200.

Finally, take the warm, fresh pie out of the oven and enjoy your dessert!
