I want to explain to you how to cook Shakria. Shakria is one of the most delicious dishes in Damascus. We usually cook Shakria for a festive occasion. It is loved by adults and children, also it is my family's favorite dish. Additionally, it is rich in protein and vitamins.

Ingredients:

  • ½ kilogram of lamb, big cut
  • 1 Onion cut into quarters
  • A piece of bay leaf
  • Three grains of cardamom
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 kilogram of yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • ½ cup of water
  • an egg

How to prepare:

First, put three cups of water in a bowl and cook it on a medium temperature.

Then, add the meat, onion, bay leaf, cardamom, and salt.

Leave the pot on the stove until the meat is wholly cooked.

Next, put the yogurt in a deep bowl and dissolve the starch in a half of a cup of water.

Add eggs to the mixture, stirring well, until the ingredients are homogeneous. Then, put the mixture on medium heat, continue stirring without stopping until it boils.

Finally, add the meat and a little meat broth to the yogurt mixture. After ten minutes, pour Shakria into a suitable serving dish next to white rice.
