Friends

A good friend is someone who understands you and supports you no matter what. I met my true-blue friend in Toronto in 2013 when I was here on vacation and we immediately became close friends. Her name is Julia and she is one year older than me. We met through another friend and even though we didn't spend much time together, we got close because we have very similar personalities and interests. After that, we went back to Korea and we agreed to travel together a few times to see the beauty of our country. We arranged to go on a few vacations together, and during these trips, we talked about how hard it is to have a long-distance relationship. Interestingly, she had a boyfriend in Canada and so did I, so we helped each other through good and bad times. When we had trouble with our boyfriends, we would find support in each other. Another interesting fact about our relationship was that we moved to Toronto in the same year (2016) to get married. We have been through almost the same situation since we met, so she knows exactly how I’m feeling and how difficult it is to live in a new country as an immigrant. Sometimes, I feel she understands me even better than my husband, especially when I feel homesick. Because of all of these reason, she is one of the most important people in my life and we will always be best friends.
