China is a well-known eastern country that has more than 5000 years history. People from all over the world have known more about China due to the development of Internet technology. More and more people are learning Chinese culture in order to visit China in the future. As a Chinese, I am proud to see that China has affected so many countries and established the closest relationship with them. I would like to talk about Chinese culture and share them with new immigrants. I hope we can learn more from each other and enhance the understanding.

Chinese culture contains information divided into traditions, heritage, the arts, festivals, language, and symbols. However, Chinese food is the most famous among all the cultures. There are thousands of Chinese restaurants in GTA, even in Canada. Now that food is the most important thing for mankind, let’s talk about it today.

Firstly, how does Chinese eat?

"Sit-Down Buffet" — Share the Same Dishes.

In China eating is more of a communal activity. In contrast to the West, where everyone orders their own meal, which arrives on a plate and is eaten individually, food is generally ordered dish-by-dish in China to be shared by all present at the table. Each diner has their own small rice bowl, into which food from the plates and bowls in the center of the table is placed using chopsticks, or perhaps serving spoons — a bit like a sit-down buffet perhaps.

Chinese host usually place food in your bowl without even asking. The host will often put chicken legs or other parts of the meal in the guest's bowl. Though Westerners may see this as interfering with one's independence and personal space, it is a sign of hospitality in China.

Chopsticks, No Knives or Forks

In China it is common for everyone to use their own chopsticks for fetching food from the dishes in the center. If you would prefer, for hygiene reasons, serving spoons and serving chopsticks can be provided for food in the center of the table.

Secondly, how does Chinese drink?

Refrigerated soft drinks are widely available, but beware ice cubes made from tap water, as most tap water in China is unpotable and should be at least boiled before drinking. Beer is very popular in China; the other popular alcoholic drink is white wine. Beware, this can be very strong. In China, drinking alcohol is still mainly a male custom. Male guests are routinely offered alcohol at meal times. Just politely refuse if you don't want it. An empty glass is always refilled, if you don’t want to drink any more, a refusal has to be given three times.

Thirdly, how is Chinese food made?

Chinese food is famous all over the world, but you may be shocked by its surprising range and variety of ingredients if you’ve only eaten in Chinese restaurants abroad. Chinese food has countless delicious and fantastic dishes. And people from different areas have different cuisine types, which can be bland, sweet, salty, spicy, or sour.

China can be divided into several regions with distinct styles of cooking. The ingredients used are based on the natural and agricultural products of each region.

Chinese cooking is renowned throughout the world. Chinese food has a distinctive culinary style all its own. The emphasis is on fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Finally, I have to say there are so many things about Chinese food I would like to share. However, I cannot mention all of them this time because even if I am Chinese, I have no way to try all the foods. If you are interested in Chinese food, you can make a plan to visit China, where you can eat original Chinese food. I am sure you must be fascinated by the amazing food on the earth.
