My Story text

I was born in Vung Tau; a gorgeous city in Vietnam that has a nice beach.

In 1995, when I graduated from Economics at University of Vietnam, I joined P & G - an American multinational consumer goods corporation.

Then I worked in Danzas, a Swiss Representative of pharmaceutical products such as Upsa, Bristol Myer Squibb, La Roche, a Global bio-pharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and delivering innovative medicine for patients with serious diseases including cancer, HIV/ADS, and diabetes.

Then I worked for DHL, a worldwide transportation network- importing and exporting cargo from Asia and Europe to Vietnam and back.

In 2005, I owned an Office Machine Co., which was selling, renting copiers, faxes, printers, and cameras.

I landed in Saint John 15 months ago with my husband and two children (a boy and a girl). I chose Saint John because this was my destination as planned. I realize that Saint John attracted me at first sight, because it also has a nice beach, a peaceful life, fresh air… I had a sense of belonging.

I chose the Healthcare program at YMCA for study because I want to have a job and I think I should be useful to someone.

In Vietnam even if you have insurance ,you can also buy private insurance. Most of the time care is provided by the loved ones in the family. I realize that the healthcare system in Vietnam is different than in Canada.

I have a job at Joan’s Home Support. I have the opportunity to work with retired people, some of them are doctors and professors, and they have a treasure of knowledge. I also learn many things from them.

To be honest,in order to settle in a new country, language is the most important thing you should think about. That is the reason why I have the opportunity to see you, my instructor every Sunday. I am grateful to you and those who have made it possible for me to study.
