About Me on post-it notes

My name is Gyozo, I am from Hungary. I lived in Miskolc for 38 years. I worked in a store as a bricklayer. In the store I worked 12 hours every day as a security guard, it was a hard job because my feet and back hurt for standing long hours.

When I moved to Canada in 2010 it was different from Hungary because everything was new, and I didn't know how to speak English. There was a lady named Gloria, she helped my family and I get into school. She helped my son get into daycare, and helped us fill out paperwork. My first job in Canada was as a hotel cleaner and maintenance worker. We got the permanent resident card in 2015. We were so happy that we got it because it meant we could stay in Canada, and we could start a new life here.

After I got a job as a painter, we bought our first home. I always worked a lot and didn't have enough time to go to school. When I learned about the LINC Home Study program, I was so happy that I could go to online school because my goal is to become a Canadian citizen.
