The Athabasca Falls with Rocky Mountain peak behind

Our trip to Alberta included a visit to several beautiful places. The first place my family and I visited was Jasper National Park. The natural beauty of Jasper National Park, which is the largest national park within Alberta’s Rocky Mountains spans 11,000 square kilometers. The visit to the park refreshed us and soothed our eyes. We had planned to visit Jasper for many months, but it was difficult to make it happen due to the worldwide pandemic situation. At last, our dream came true two weeks ago.

My family and I woke up very early in the morning and started our journey towards Jasper at 7:00 am sharp. Once we started the journey, we all were in a festive mood, laughing, and enjoying the scenic view. It took almost 3 hours to reach Jasper National Park Gate from Edmonton. When we entered the park gate, we saw a caribou standing on the side of the road, and we became busy and took a lot of pictures. At first, we stopped at Maligne Canyon. We were so happy to see the waterfall. Actually, we learned that the waterfall is 50 meters high and that’s why it creates huge swirling downstream. Next, we went to Maligne Lake which is almost 48 Km away from Jasper. Over there, many tourists enjoyed boating on the lake. Nearby there were some other attractions like Miette Hot Springs, Medicine Lake, Sunwapta Falls, though we did not stop at every spot as our time was limited. Then, we started our journey towards Mount Edith Cavell. The road had lots of sharp turning and no shield at the side of road. It was scary but adventurous. It was sad to hear that Glacier Mountain was covered by glaciers before, but nowadays it is melting due to global warming. When we returned to our hotel, we wondered how beautiful nature can be.

Similarly, we started our second day of tour early in the morning and headed to Athabasca Falls. Surprisingly, we saw a Black Bear crossing the road. It was really a great feeling. We also saw mountain goat, deer, caribou and moose. We enjoyed Athabasca Falls and were able to stand very close to the falls. We took lots of pictures and enjoyed the view a lot. After, we headed to Lake Louise. We were so amazed after seeing the colour of the water. The water seemed to me to be an unusual blue. The Lake was encircled by Rocky Mountains, and we were amazed by its natural beauty.

Finally, we finished our successful two-day trip with lots of memories. The tour really refreshed us a lot after staying at home for a year.

I recommend a trip to Alberta, and I am sure you will also be amazed.
