Canada

I’d like to share some tips of my family trip to Ottawa last week. We have two toddlers with us in the trip, which made all the attractions very kids friendly. Although I didn’t really enjoyed this trip compared to any other trips I’ve been gone without kids, as long as my two little ones loved it, anything could be deserved.

The first tip is to make sure all the stuff have been packed one day before travelling. I eventually got things packed right the day we went on travelling. I ended up getting headache after packing, because while I was doing the packing, my two kids were distracting me all the time.

The second tip, If you have young kids who only need diapers during night time, you should probably give them a diaper when you have a long distance to drive to the next place. Otherwise, if they fallen asleep on the way, they may lose sense of holding pees and ruined the car-seat.

The third tip, if you plan to visit provincial parks in PEC, make sure to book a reservation online maximum 5 days ahead. The good news is that you don’t need to pay for the tickets during Monday to Thursday, but reservations are needed anyway. I highly recommend the Sandbanks beach which has the softest sands I’ve ever seen, the water is also clean, warm and not deep at all, definitely a nice and safe place for kids to have fun!

The fourth tip, if you plan to visit the history museum of Canada in Ottawa, they offer free tickets for any exhibitions on each Thursday afternoon between 5 to 7 o’clock. A reservation online is also needed for sure. I really love the architectures of the museum, and the view outside of the museum is also amazing, you can have a picnic right on the waterfront green space, you can see the beautiful scene of river, bridge and the parliament buildings.

Last but not least, don’t set too much expectation of your vacation if you are not going to stay in one place like a resort. Kids might eat less, sleep less during the trip, they might not well behaved on the road or in restaurants. It’s might be not a good idea to set up your plans too tight to make everyone overtired.

Wish everyone have a wonderful trip and keep safe!
