Employment

Jeweler at work in jewelery workshop

When I was 18 years old, I worked in a jewellery store in Kandy. I worked there to learn some skills. Then, after 2 years I went to Colombo. I worked there for a jewellery manufacturer. There I learned more things, such as how to create jewelry items in copper, silver and gold, using fundamental gold smith skills for entry-level employment in the jewellery Industry.

After 5 years, I quit my job and opened my own jewellery workshop. I repaired jewellery to industry standards and to meet customer satisfaction. Then, after 5 years I got married. I started my sponsorship application to come to Canada. Sponsorship took almost 1 ½ years. In 2016, I closed my shop and came to Canada.
